In Wicca, what is the difference between an invoking pentagram and a banishing pentagram? Is there even one?

I've read in several rituals, such as the Yule sabbat, "draw a banishing pentagram" to banish the Old Year and to "draw an invoking pentagram" to welcome the New Year. Is there a difference between the way these are drawn? Or are they simply the same pentagram with different purposes?
